Location Data

RapiPin is a location-based tool. To provide its core functionality (saving "pins" of where you are), we require access to your device's location. We use:

• Precise Location (GPS and network-based): To determine your exact coordinates when you create a pin.
• Coarse Location: Used as a fallback or for broader geographic context.

This data is used to resolve nearby place names and store the geographic coordinates of your pins.

User-Provided Information

When you create a pin, you may choose to provide a custom name or description for that location. This information is stored on your device.

2. How Data is Stored

Local Storage: RapiPin is designed to prioritize your privacy. The location data, timestamps, and names of your pins are stored locally on your device using an internal database (Room). This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly perform an action to share it.

3. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party service providers to facilitate our App:

• Google Play Services / Android Geocoder: The App uses the Android platform's Geocoder to convert your latitude and longitude coordinates into human-readable place names (like a merchant name). 4. Permissions

To function correctly, the App requests the following permissions:

• Location Access: Required to capture coordinates for your pins.
• Notifications: Used to provide quick-access pinning actions from your notification drawer.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's system settings.

5. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. Since your data is stored locally, its security depends on your device's security. We recommend using device encryption and secure lock screens to protect your information.
